Join hands with fellow Chi Omega's to serve our Greater Houston community. By working earnestly, together, we continue to support Chi Omega's ideals: friendship, personal intergity, service to others and community involvement.

The Center for Pursuit 

The Center for Pursuit Liaison: Ann Ainsworth Hawkins, Rho

The Chi Omega Alumnae Association of Houston has had a long time philanthropic partnership with The Center for Pursuit, Houston. Members of the alumnae association have raised and donated over 3.3 MILLION DOLLARS to The Center since the mid 1950's through various fundraising events. Alumnae members not only support The Center through monitary gifts but also through hands on volunteer work with Gingersnaps Inc. Gingersnaps Inc is the largest in-house nonprofit business The Center runs, it is a year round retailer for Gingersnap, Cheesesnap and other baked goods. Members of the alumnae association join hands for volunteer shift at The Center throughout the year to fill tins with deliciousness where they are then sold at various markets around Houston and shipped throughout the US. *Youth volunteer age is 10-16 with a guardian and age 17+ without a guardian.

October 9, 2021 (Saturday): Literacy in the Bag
9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
St. Arnold's Brewery

Kick-off street festival. Breakfast tacos  are provided and a lunch voucher will be provided for St. Arnold's Brewery.
Help set up vendor tents and assist with general needs during festival.
Accompanied children are welcome.

October 23, 2021 (Saturday): Houston ArBOOretum

9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Assist with the Arboretum's ArBOOretum Halloween event at activity tables and Trick or Treat Trail.
T-shirt, snacks and drinks provided. Children 16+ welcome.

November 6, 2021 (Saturday): Bayou City Blessings in a Backpack

Bag shelf-stable foods to go into student backpacks. Accompanied children welcome.

December 4, 2021 (Saturday) - Buffalo Bayou Partnership

Assist in the revitalization and transformation of Buffalo Bayou.  Parking and tools provided.
Accompanied children welcome.
