Overview

The Chi Omega Alumnae Association of Houston, along with nineteen other national sororities, is a member of The Houston Alumnae Panhellenic Association (HAPA).  Our Chi Omega alumnae partner with HAPA to promote the values and ideals of Greek Life. Our alumnae participate fully in the recruitment structure and guidelines instituted by HAPA.

Chi Omega Executive Headquarters charges local alumnae organizations to facilitate the distribution of recruitment information and the recommendation of young women to collegiate chapters across the nations.  To that end, our alumnae organization has chartered a Recruitment Board to fulfill this mission.  The Board is a dedicated group of alumnae members, representing diverse collegiate chapters, who conduct their activities to fulfill the following three purposes:

  • Educate potential new members and their parents on the preparation of complete and timely recruitment packets
  • Facilitate the collection of recruitment packets; provide confidential quality control reviews of documents and the timely delivery of recruitment packets to campus recruitment advisors
  • Coordinate special alumnae-sponsored events for legacies and new Chi Omega members as requested by the alumnae association’s executive board

The official document to recommend a potential new member to a collegiate chapter is Chi Omega’s Recruitment Information Form (RIF).  This form is prepared by an alumna in good standing and is presented to the Recruitment Board with select companion documents and photos.  It is critical for alumnae to assist in preparation of these forms to recommend a pool of qualified candidates who fulfill the purposes of Chi Omega.  The RIF form may be downloaded from our National website by clicking here.

Consider joining our Houston Chi Omega Alumnae Association.  Your support of your legacy daughters and other area young women is crucial to our overall recruitment success.  The RIF form was modified in 2007 to include the alumna’s Chi Omega involvement and activities since graduation.  Your active membership and participation in the Houston Chi Omega Alumnae is considered an “alumna activity,” and illustrates your continuing commitment to Chi Omega.   Are there benefits?  You bet!  Those who are members of the alumnae will receive timely updates on recruitment policy changes, notification of RIF packet instructions for the upcoming year, and invitations to events involving our collegiate members.  Please join us today!
