Message from the President
Dear Chi Omega Sisters, Welcome to the website for the Chi Omega Alumnae Association of Houston! This is the "control center" for all things Chi Omega in Houston. If this is your first time to visit, please take a moment to acquaint yourself to the website. Our website is filled with all the information about our activities, philanthropies and programs for 2010-2011. Joining us could not be any easier--simply locate the "Join Us" tab on our home page and either renew or join our Alumnae Association for the first time. There are a wide variety of activities available for all age groups. Membership does have its privileges! By joining our Alumnae Association, each member receives:
Our organization is also celebrating its 80th year in 2010-2011. We are promoting our "$80 for 80 years" campaign in celebration of this momentous milestone! When paying your dues, please consider donating to the “$80 for 80 campaign” in celebration of our 80th anniversary. Your continued support helps us secure the successful future of the Chi Omega Alumnae Association of Houston. This is also the 4th biennial year for our Kaleidoscope philanthropic event . It will be held on Friday, October 15, at 11:30 a.m. at the River Oaks Country Club and will feature speaker Frank Abagnale. His life was portrayed in the movie Catch Me If You Can starring Leonardo Di Caprio and Tom Hanks. Proceeds for this event will benefit The Center (formerly known as The Center Serving Persons with Mental Retardation), Make A Wish Foundation of the Texas Gulf Coast & Louisiana by granting one wish for a child with a terminal illness, the Chi Omega Alumnae Association Fund and the Chi Omega Foundation. Click on the" Kaleidoscope" tab below for more information on Frank Abagnale's amazing story and learn how you can be part of this special event. Tables are on sale now, so gather your friends and neighbors and buy a table of 10! Space is limited so do not be left out! I am honored to be serving as the 80th President of the Chi Omega Alumnae Association. I was initiated in 1987 at the Epsilon Zeta Chapter at Stephen F. Austin State University graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in December 1989. Chi Omega has afforded me not only many leadership opportunities in college and as an alumnae but also has given me the tremendous gift of friendship and support from my fellow sisters. My only hope is that I can pass this legacy onto my daughters, Lyndsay and Allison. I hope that you will join us this year. Our membership drive starts May 15 and ends August 1, 2010. I would like to extend an invitation to you to attend our fall kick-off party on September 14, 2010. Please join us now and stay connected. I look forward to seeing you soon! Loyally in Chi Omega, Carey Dill Dow
